Spicy and Flavorful Chicken Sukka Recipe: Perfect for a Satisfying South Indian Meal

Chicken Sukka is a popular South Indian dish that is made by cooking boneless chicken in a spicy, flavorful masala. It is usually served with rice or roti and is a delicious and satisfying meal.

Ingredients:

  • 500g boneless chicken
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2-3 green chilies, slit lengthwise
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds.
  2. Once the cumin seeds start to splutter, add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Add ginger and garlic paste and sauté for a minute.
  4. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until the tomatoes are soft and mushy.
  5. Add red chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt to taste. Mix well.
  6. Add the boneless chicken pieces and mix well so that the masala coats the chicken.
  7. Cover the pan and let the chicken cook on medium flame for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  8. Once the chicken is cooked and the gravy has thickened, add slit green chilies and sauté for 1-2 minutes.
  9. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.
