Mangalorean coconut chutney

Here is a recipe for Mangalorean coconut chutney:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup grated coconut
  • 2-3 green chilies
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2-3 garlic cloves
  • 2 tablespoons chopped coriander leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions:

  1. In a blender, add the grated coconut, green chilies, onion, garlic, coriander leaves, salt, and water.
  2. Blend everything together until smooth.
  3. Transfer the chutney to a serving bowl and serve with your choice of Indian snacks or meals.

There are a few ways you can vary the recipe to suit your taste:

  • Add some tamarind paste or lemon juice to add some tanginess to the chutney.
  • Experiment with different types of chilies to vary the level of spiciness.
  • Use coconut milk instead of water for a creamier, richer chutney.
  • Add some mustard seeds and curry leaves to the chutney for an extra layer of flavor.
  • Try roasting the coconut and the other ingredients before blending to add depth of flavor.

I hope these suggestions help! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Enjoy!
