Chicken Sukka is a popular South Indian dish that is made by cooking boneless chicken in a spicy, flavorful masala. It is usually served with rice or roti and is a delicious and satisfying meal.
Ingredients:
- 500g boneless chicken
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 tsp ginger paste
- 1 tsp garlic paste
- 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 2-3 green chilies, slit lengthwise
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions:
- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds.
- Once the cumin seeds start to splutter, add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add ginger and garlic paste and sauté for a minute.
- Add chopped tomatoes and cook until the tomatoes are soft and mushy.
- Add red chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt to taste. Mix well.
- Add the boneless chicken pieces and mix well so that the masala coats the chicken.
- Cover the pan and let the chicken cook on medium flame for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Once the chicken is cooked and the gravy has thickened, add slit green chilies and sauté for 1-2 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.
